In a 2020 study, researchers found that schools that improve students' social and emotional development-social skills, a sense of belonging, and a growth mindset, have a much larger impact on long-term outcomes than schools that focus on improving test scores, particularly for disadvantaged students.
QUICK CONTEXT
Government school teachers require more region-specific and need-based support to help students thrive.
Government school teachers often struggle to receive the right kind of training and support to attend to children’s needs and struggles. They have their own region-specific needs and challenges that need to be addressed.
While Government institutions like the State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) departments are doing their best to help these teachers, there are thousands of current and future teachers in the state government system that are looking for better support. The SCERT has been open to collaborating with external organisations to introduce innovative practices and strategies that can enhance the support.
Our goal is to address this at scale, in a highly collaborative and sustainable manner.
HOW WE’RE ADDRESSING THIS CRISIS
We are co-designing hyperlocal, state-wide teacher training and capacity-building programs with the state and local government
We closely work with institutions like the — State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) and the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET). Our goal is to build capacity within their teams, their current teachers and the future teachers they strengthen.

Preparing Future Teachers with the right tools & knowledge
We have a dedicated team working in partnership with state and local government institutions to collaboratively restructure the diploma programs. We are working to ensure the curriculum in these institutions are able to equip future teachers with the right tools, methods and support to transform learning experiences in the classroom. Our goal is to make teaching an exciting and aspirational profession.

Building Sustainable Processes and Tools for Govt. Teams
We believe the only way to drive change at scale is to ensure we develop a model that can self-sustain in the long term. We are actively developing specific capacity-building programs that focus on strengthening the training and coaching teams within departments like the SCERT. Additionally, we are digitising their internal processes, and constructing frameworks that help us reach, measure and maintain the “gold standard” for teaching practices.

Strengthening Current Teachers State-wide
We collaboratively design and conduct workshops, and teaching techniques & tools throughout the year with teachers. The topics are need-based and focus on strengthening targeted aspects of how teachers support their students inside and outside classrooms. They range from sharing innovative methods to improve student engagement, to how to build stronger partnerships with parents and the communities to ensure students are able to thrive outside school.
